CCTV footage of a man who is believed to have robbed a Nottingham bank earlier this week has been released by police.
The footage is being issued by officers investigating an incident at the Lloyds TSB branch in Lower Parliament Street on Monday (October 17) at around 1.35pm.
A man entered the bank and handed a cashier a note stating that he had a gun. Although no weapon was seen, a quantity of cash was handed to the man, who then left the bank.
The circumstances of the robbery are almost identical to an incident at another branch of Lloyds TSB, in Low Pavement, on Monday 25 July. Again, a note threatening a cashier was handed over by a man, who left with a substantial amount of money.
The offender in both instances has been described as white and aged between 55 and 65 years old. His build is described as thick set and his height is estimated at around 5ft 8ins tall. He has thick, black curly hair, which appears dyed, although it could possibly be a wig. He also wears large sunglasses.
Detective Chief Inspector Rob Griffin said: “The distinct similarities in the appearance and method of the offender in these two instances almost certainly points to the same individual as responsible for both robberies.
“Not only has the offender fled on both occasions with large amounts of cash, the cashiers who have been passed these threatening notes, and their colleagues, are being put through a terrifying ordeal, not to mention the innocent members of the public who were also in the banks at this time.
“Any crime that is carried out with the threat of violence, particularly a potential threat to someone’s life, is, frankly, despicable, so it is imperative that we identify this individual as soon as we possibly can.
“We hope this footage will help to identify this man through his build, his gait and his mannerisms, and I would urge anyone who knows or recognises this individual to contact us immediately so we can prevent him doing this again.”
Anyone with information about the offender shown in the footage is urged to telephone Nottinghamshire Police on 0300 300 99 99 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111. If you would like to help others find this blog post please click the +1 button below

Warning this video has sound and contains shrieking and possibly swearing.
I don't envy these officers, dealing with violent persons is very difficult but add in the fact that they are in a crowded public place and that the offenders are female makes it extremely difficult to use just enough force to keep control. I think from what we see they do very well.
